SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Using a 10-0 run to start the game, the Augustana women's basketball team raced out to a 23-point first half lead and never looked back, taking down William Penn 94-54 Thursday night at the Elmen Center.
The Vikings (2-0) used balanced scoring across the floor as 10 different players scored, five of them scoring in double figures for Augustana.
Presley O'Farrell dropped 14 first-half points and finished the contest with a career-high 17 on 7-10 shooting from the field. Her twin sister,
Logan O'Farrell, knocked down 10 points in the first half to finish with 14 points to go along with a team-high six rebounds and six steals.
Junior center
Shelby Selland added 13 points and seven rebounds. The Letcher, S.D. native scored her 13 points on 75 percent shooting.
Connecting on three 3-point shots, sophomore
Abby Hora poured in a career-high 12 points in 15 minutes of action.
Augustana shot just under 45 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three point line. The Vikings held WillIam Penn to just 35 percent from the field and 27 percent (6-22) from behind the arc.
Augustana returns to action Mon, Nov. 20 when they travel to Wayne State. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
