Augustana Men's Basketball Tryout Policy
1. Each participant is responsible for their own medical physical and proof of such for the training staff. In addition, they must also prove they are covered by health insurance. Any questions please contact Jason Rinne at (605) 274-5057.
2. Each participant will notify the men's basektball staff of their arrival on campus and their continued interest to try out for the team. Please notify the men's basketball office at (605) 274-4317 and please do so by the end of the first week of the semester.
3. Each participant will be tested on physical conditioning as well as basketball skills. The participant will be required to run one mile in under 5 minutes, 30 seconds and will be able to run a 564-foot sprint on the court in under 31 seconds.
4. Each participant will go through a series of physical tests and strength tests, the same as our current players.
5. Participants will completely understand that there is not a guaranteed spot on the roster, and they will receive no clothing, equipment, or other materials unless they are asked to walk-on to the team.
6. Only 14 basketball team members are allowed to travel and participate in the NCAA postseason tournament per NCAA rules. Any walk-on participant who makes the team may be a prime candidate to not travel/participate in postseason play.
