Augustana Athletic Venues, Facilities, Maps & Directions

The most dynamic expansion of athletic facilities in the history of Augustana reflects the College’s commitment to NCAA Division II and the Vikings’ debut in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

In 2005, Augustana’s Board of Trustees approved a Strategic Plan for Athletics. One of the strategic plan’s primary goals was “strengthening the Augustana athletic program to compete at the highest levels in NCAA Division II.”

“We intend to pursue national championships in every sport we compete in,” President Rob Oliver said in November, 2006, announcing the College’s decision to remain in Division II. To do so, Augustana would have to upgrade its athletic facilities in order to recruit top student-athletes.

Since January, 2007, the College has committed more than $16 million to building new or improving existing athletic facilities.

Augustana alumni, friends, and the Sioux Falls business community have enthusiastically embraced the college’s vision for new and improved athletic facilities on campus. Since approval of the strategic plan in 2005, more than $12 million has been raised from more than 200 donors in support of these projects.
