SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – 14 kills from senior
Bailey Koch lifted the Augustana volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over St. Cloud State on senior day at the Elmen Center Saturday afternoon. The win gives the Vikings a four match win streak entering the conference tournament.
Augustana won the first set 25-21, the second set 25-18 and wrapped up the match up with a 25-10 set three victory.
"With it being senior night, we really fed off that emotion and energy and wanted to play well from the start and I think we did that," senior
Ashley Wilson said.
Koch's 14 kills came on just 25 attempts as the Litchfield, Minn. native hit .520 on the night.
Wilson added eight kills on 16 attempts to hit .571 Saturday afternoon.
Three Vikings had double digit digs, allowing St. Cloud to hit just .090. Senior
Tahlyr Banks led the way with 18 digs, while senior setter
Alex Banker had 12 digs to go along with 33 assists.
Hanna Justesen had 10 digs on the afternoon.
Augustana hit .266 as a team and knocked down 41 kills in three sets.
With the win, the Vikings improve to 22-8 overall and 13-7 in conference play, qualifying for the conference tournament for the third consecutive season.
Augustana's seed, opponent and game time is to be determined.
