MANKATO, Minn.- The Augustana men's and women's track team both finished in second at the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championship.
The women's team finished in with 131.5 points, 9 points behind the leader Minnesota State. The men came up with 99 points behind first-place Minnesota State.
Keegan Carda set a new NSIC Championship record in the men's 5000 meter run with a time of 14:45.85.
Nick Larsen came in second crossing the line at 14:52.85.
Ida Eltervaag took home first place in the women's 800 meter dash with a time of 2:14.50.
Avery Selberg placed in fourth with a time of 2:17.56.
Josh Barrows finished in first in the men's 600 meter dash crossing the line at 1:21.45.
Zach Jones came in fourth with a new personal best time of 1:23.26.
The women's 4x400 meter relay team of
Valerie Moos,
Irene Almarcha,
Carina Hofmeister and
Charissa Etrheim came in first place with a time of 3:50.88. The time was a NCAA provisional qualifier.
Ryan Heuer finished in second in the men's 60 meter hurdles with a new school record time of 8.01. Heuer shared the previous record with Diego Oquendo at 8.08.
Dylon Van't Hof ran a personal best time of 8.40 for fifth place.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of
Khor Kong,
Zach Tuschen,
Justin Greenway and
Josh Barrows finished in second with a provisional time of 3:20.30.
Charissa Etrheim placed in second in the women's 600 meter dash with a time of 1:35.64.
Brooke DeVos came in fifth crossing the line at 1:36.35, the times were both personal best for each.
The four women running in the women's 1000 meter run finished second through fifth.
Emma Anderson took second with a school record time of 2:53.06 breaking her own previous mark set last year.
Annika Rotvold came in third with a time 2:58.77,
Carly Bauer finished in fourth with a time of 3:03.23 and
Courtney Hottovy came in fifth crossing the line at 3:03.28.
Leah Seivert came in third in the in the women's 5000 meter run crossing the line at 17:04.94.
Mackenzie Kelly finished in sixth with a time of 17:47.04. Seivert also finished in fourth in the women's 3000 meter run with a provisional time of 9:49.38.
Justin Greenway finished with a new personal best time of 6.87 in the men's 60 meter dash good for third place. Greenway also came in fourth in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 21.99.
Kaylynn Erlandson broke her own school record in the women's Triple Jump with a jump of 11.75 meters (38 feet, 6.75 inches).
"This was a great weekend by both teams," head coach
Tracy Hellman said. "Our women made a late charge and almost won the team title. We had great things happened all day and was very pleased with how we competed. Our men were behind all day and had our best finish of the year and placed second overall. This was an overall great performance by our men's and women's team.
Augustana finishes up the indoor track season at the NCAA Indoor Championship in Pittsburg, Kan. on Mar. 11-12.
