SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana men's and women's cross country team kicked off the 2014 season by hosting the fourth annual Augustana Twilight Invitational at Yankton Trail on Friday night.

The Augustana women finished fourth overall after tallying 111 total points as a team with an average time of 17:14.02, only 12 points shy of Dordt College.

Gabi Swoboda was the first runner to finish for the Vikings, placing 20th with a time of 17:09.48. After Swoboda's finish Meritxell Delgado, Megan Brown, and Kaitlyn Yoerg finished 21-22-23 overall.

Junior Amber Eichkorn won the women's university division with a finish of 15:48.11 respectively for the University of South Dakota.

On the men's side, senior TJ Gleason finished first for the Augustana pack after placing 25th with a time of 19:31.26. Following him was John Klecker, Keegan Carda, and Adam Braun finishing 26-27-29 overall.

The Augustana men finished sixth overall as a team with 131 total points, just seven points behind Morningside College.

Freshman Elisha Kipruto from Iowa Central won the four-mile race with a time of 18:24.32. University of Nebraska runner Joseph Harter took first for the men's university division with a time of 18:29.09.
