Vikings blank MSU Moorhead and move closer to fourth straight conference title

FARGO, N.D.
– Augustana women's tennis moved one step closer to their fourth straight regular season conference title with a 9-0 win over MSU Moorhead on Saturday.  Three Vikings won 6-0, 6-0 and two of the doubles pairings shut out their opponents 8-0.
 
Katie Jesperson and Michelle Wadas won easily at No. 1 and 2 singles with Jesperson taking her match 6-1, 6-0 and Wadas won 6-3, 6-0.  The next three singles matches went in favor of the Vikings all by a 6-0, 6-0 margin.
 
Hanna Gebauer, Heather Sullivan, and Liz Lewis all double-bageled their opponents at Nos. 3-5 singles.  Jessica Spalding closed out the singles matches at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
 
Jesperson and Wadas teamed up at No. 1 doubles and won 8-0.  Jessa Richards paired with Gebauer to win 8-1 at No. 2 doubles and Jenna Helleberg and Sullivan won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles to solidify the 9-0 win over the Dragons.
 
The Vikings will square off with fellow conference undefeated Winona State at 9 a.m. tomorrow before concluding regular season conference play against Northern State at 11:30.
