INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana women's tennis earned the No. 4 seed and will take on the No. 1 seed Southwest Baptist University (19-1) in the NCAA Central Region Tournament on Monday, April 29, in Bolivar, Mo.
Northeastern State University earned the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 seed Central Oklahoma on Saturday, April 27.
The 48-team tournament is single elimination and will be played at 15 regional sites. Two teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the final site in Surprise, Ariz.
Augustana is making its fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) and is 2-3 all-time in NCAA postseason competition. Last season, the Vikings were the No. 1 seed in the Central Region and lost in the opening round to Colorado Mesa University.
Augustana is 21-2 and finished 12-0 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to earn its fourth straight regular season conference championship before the Vikings went on to win its third straight conference tournament championship.
