CENTRAL REGION RANKINGS
INDINAPOLIS - Augustana women's tennis remained ranked No. 4 in the Central Region rankings for the third consecutive week. The Vikings own an 18-2 record, which includes a 12-0 mark in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference competition.
The Central Region is comprised of the NSIC, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), and the Great American Conference (GAC).
Southwest Baptist (Okla.) leads the way with a perfect 14-0 mark in Central Region action. Northeastern State (Okla.) and Central Oklahoma check in at second and third, respectively, with two losses apiece. Augustana is followed by Northwest Missouri State at No. 5 and Nebraska-Kearney rounds out the top six.
The Vikings only had one match since the last rankings and beat Nebraska-Kearney 6-1 in a home dual on Monday, April 15. The match did not count towards this week's rankings.
Augustana now embarks on their title defense of the NSIC Tournament Championship this weekend. First round matches begin on April 20 with the Vikings taking the court at 2 p.m. against the No. 8 seed after they clinched the top seed in the NSIC Tournament. The semifinal and final rounds will be played on April 21 at 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
