INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana women's tennis remained at No. 4 in the second edition of the NCAA Central Region rankings released on Thursday. The Vikings are 17-2 on the season including a perfect 12-0 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to capture their fourth straight NSIC regular season championship.
The Central Region consists of the NISC, Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), and Great American Conference (GAC). The winners of the NSIC and MIAA conference tournaments will be granted automatic bids to the NCAA Central Region tournament and the next two highest-ranked teams will be granted at-large bids.
Southwest Baptist (Okla.) leads the rankings with a 12-0 in-region record while Northeastern State (Okla.) and Central Oklahoma are second and third in the second set of rankings this season. St. Cloud State enters the rankings at No. 5 joining the Vikings from the NSIC. Northwest Missouri Side rounds out the rankings at No. 6.
Augustana will close out the regular season with a match against Nebraska-Kearney on Monday, April 15 at 2 p.m.
