MATCH SCORES
ORLANDO, Fla. – After losing two of their past three matches, the Vikings returned to their dominant ways and shut out St. Michael's 9-0 in their spring trip finale. The matchup against the Purple Knights was Augustana's (12-2) first against a Division II opponent in the past five matches.
Katie Jesperson led the matches off with a 7-5, 6-0 win at. No. 1 singles and
Jessa Richards handled her opponent easily, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 slot.
Michelle Wadas continued the dismantling of the Purple Knights with a 6-1, 6-4 win in the third spot.
Hannah Gebauer bounced back after dropping her first singles match of the year yesterday with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Jenna Helleberg won by the same scores at No. 5 singles and
Liz Lewis coasted to a 6-2, 6-0 win in the final singles spot.
Jesperson and Wadas dominated the top doubles match, winning 8-1. Richards and Gebauer, ranked eighth in the central region, won 8-5 and
Heather Sullivan teamed up with Helleberg for an 8-5 win as well.
The Vikings return back to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action next weekend with matches against St. Cloud State and Bemidji State on March 23.
