STARKVILLE, Miss. - Augustana is ranked No. 7 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll released Wednesday.
The Vikings earned 267 points to move up from their preseason ranking of eighth.
Alabama-Huntsville is the top team in the poll with 398 points after starting its season 8-0. UAH moved up from the second slot in the preseason poll.
Fellow Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference-opponent Winona State, previously unranked, is now No. 23.
The Vikings went 4-1 at the Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev., on Feb. 10 and 11.
The Vikings travel to St. Cloud, Minn., this weekend for the Husky Dome Classic Invite. The Vikings will take on St. Cloud State, Lewis, Upper Iowa and Valley City State in the two-day tournament.
