Super Regional Three Championship

Last time out
Augustana wrapped up its NSIC season with a 29-10 victory over MSU Moorhead last Wednesday evening. The Vikings got pins from
Jason Jeremiason (133) and
Matt Morris (165).
Regional history
Augustana has won two region titles in program history. The Vikings were the region's top team in 2004-05 and in 2009-10. Head coach
Jason Reitmeier has never finished lower than fifth in the region since taking over at Augustana in 2003-04. Last year, the Vikings finished second after accumulating 120 points. Seven from Augustana advanced to the NCAA Championship.
The field
Twelve teams make up the field at this season's Super Regional Three Championship. Augustana, Indianapolis, U-Mary, Maryville (Mo.), Minnesota State, MSU Moorhead, Newman (Kan.), Northern State, St. Cloud State, Southwest Minnesota State, Upper Iowa and Wisconsin-Parkside are the region teams.
National Powers
Five of the 12 teams in Super Region Three are nationally ranked. St. Cloud State is No. 1, Upper Iowa is No. 4, Augustana is No. 5, Wisconsin-Parkside is No. 12 and Indianapolis is No. 19.
The road to Pueblo
The top four wrestlers from each weight class will advance to the NCAA Championship on March 9 and 10 at Colorado State-Pueblo. The Vikings have made 40 appearances at the NCAA Championship, the most of any program at Augustana.
Double-figure wins
Jason Reitmeier guided his team to 10 dual wins for the third-consecutive season and fourth time in his career. Reitmeier went 14-2 last season , 11-6 in 2009-10 and 13-3 in 2010-11. Other years in double-figure wins for the ninth-year head coach include 2004-05 (14-2) and 2005-06 (12-5).

NSIC honors
Augustana has had one NSIC Wrestler of the Week this season.
Jayd Docken earned the honor on Dec. 5.
National news
Augustana kept its No. 5 spot in the latest Division II national rankings released Feb. 22. The Vikings received 122 points. St. Cloud State remained in the top position with 160 points. To view the complete poll, click

NSIC rankings
Augustana has two wrestlers ranked No. 1 in the conference in their respective weight classes.
Nate Herda (149) and

According to the coaches
Augustana was picked third in the 2011-12 NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Vikings, who are the defending conference champions, collected 44 points in the poll. St. Cloud State, the national preseason favorite, was the top choice in the NSIC with 55 points. The Huskies narrowly edged out Upper Iowa, which collected 54 points.

Coaches' corner
2011-12 marks
Jason Reitmeier's ninth season as the head coach of the Augustana wrestling program. A former Viking wrestler, Reitmeier has mentored 39 All-Americans and guided his teams to six top-10 national finishes. He is assisted by
Tom Meester, Mike Long, Brett Lutmer, Nate Buys,
Al Meger and Jeremie Degen.

Of Augustana's seven All-America honorees last season, three return.

A look back
Last season, Augustana finished third and had seven All-America honorees at the NCAA Championship. The Vikings, who took second at the Super Regional Three Championship, finished the dual season with a record of 14-2 and were the NSIC champions with a flawless 7-0 conference campaign.
