RESULTS
LINCOLN, Neb. - Augustana had first-place finishes in three events this afternoon at the Nebraska Invite hosted by the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb. Kelly Kougl won the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:02.09. The men's distance medley relay, made up of Travis Beniak, Aduo Omot, Paul Mallory and Tom Karbo, also placed first for the Vikings, clocking in at 9:56.63. Kyle Blakeslee (10:15.59) won the 3,000-meter run.
Augustana had a second-place finisher in Kristin Brondbo who ran the 1-mile in 4:55.89.
Noel Bentele tossed 53 feet, 11 inches in the weight throw, which was good for fifth place.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Diego Oquendo placed sixth, clocking in at 8.24, while finishing the 60-meter dash in 7.04 for ninth place.
Also with sixth place finishes were Alyssa Schmidt and Colleen Everson. Schmidt ran the 600-yard run in 1:30.21, while Everson leaped 17 feet, 6.75 inches in the long jump.
Everson jumped 34 feet, 11 inches and Andrea Whitney jumped 34 feet, 9 inches in the triple jump for eighth and ninth place, respectively.
The women's 4X400-meter relay team (LeAnn Severson, Everson, Katie Guse and Anne Parsley) ran a time of 3:56.30 for a sixth place finish.
In the 3,000-meter run Paul Yak placed seventh, running a time of 8:42.74.
Tyler Lynch had a 51 foot, 6.25 inch toss in the weight throw which was good for seventh place.
Placing eighth in the high jump was Cory Sugden (6 feet, 3.25 inches).
Hollie Bloom was ninth in pole vault (10 feet, 10.75 inches).
Jordan Slusser ran 1,000-meter run in 2:33.17 and took 10th.
Molly Kokesh and Meagan Grandgenett each placed 11th in their respective events. Kokesh ran the 800-meter run in 2:19.89 and Grandgenett clocked in at 9.45 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Miriam Hovda placed 14th in the 1-mile run with time of 5:13.64.
Next up for the Vikings is the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships held in Bemidji, Minn.
