Vikings Entertain Local Media

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana football and volleyball teams fielded questions from the media and previewed their upcoming seasons Wednesday afternoon at Vikings media day held at Kirkeby-Over Stadium and the Elmen Center.

The Sioux Falls media kept head football coach Mike Aldrich and head volleyball coach Ashley Buckley busy chatting about their teams for the afternoon.

Three radio shows broadcast live from Kirkeby-Over Stadium.  ESPN 99.1's "Sports Buffet" with Brad Peterson and Warren Swain did its show from K-O.  KWSN also had two shows go live, including "Calling All Sports" with Mark Ovenden and "Sports Talk with Craig and John."

The Argus Leader's Matt Zimmer, who is the Augustana beat writer, spent some time with both the football and volleyball squads.

All of Sioux Falls' television stations--KDLT, KELO and KSFY--were also on hand.

Augustana football opens the 2010 season on Sept. 4 when the Vikings host St. Cloud State in a non-conference contest at 1 p.m.

The Augustana volleyball team opens the 2010 season on Sept. 3 when it travels to the Oredigger Classic in Golden, Colo., for four matches. The Vikings' first conference match is at home on Sept. 17 against Upper Iowa.
