2009-10 NGCA All-American Scholar Team
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The National Golf Coaches Association has announced that Augustana women's golfers
Jennifer Benoy and
Kate Tobin have been selected to the 2009-10 All-America Scholar Team for NCAA Division II.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Benoy, a chemistry major from St. Croix Falls, Wis., was a sophomore this past season with the Vikings. She played in 24 rounds in 2009-10 and owned an 85.0 stroke-per-round average.
Tobin, who is a business administration major from Eden Prairie, Minn., finished her senior season in 2009-10 by golfing in 276 rounds and compiling an average of 79.2 strokes. Tobin also finished tied for 39th at the NCAA Championships in Mesa, Ariz.
This past season, Augustana captured the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Super Region 3 championships and placed 10th at the NCAA Championships.
