The Augustana men's golf team sits in eighth place after the first round of the Upper Iowa Spring Invitational, held Friday in Ankeny, Iowa.
Augustana shot a collective 316 during Friday's round, which was delayed over an hour due to lightning. Concordia-St. Paul holds the first round lead at 291.
Individually,
Jon Emerson is tied for sixth place after carding a 2-over-par 73.
Eric Hieb is 2 shots behind Emerson at 75, which has him tied for 16th place.
Joel Thompson is next in a tie for 46th place at 82, while
Adam Walsh is tied for 53rd place at 86.
Julean Michels rounds out the Vikings in a tie for 55th place at 87.
The final round of the tournament begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
