Three Vikings Earn All-NSIC Honors; Feeney Tabbed as Freshman of the Year

The 2009-10 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams have been announced, as voted on by the league coaches. Junior guard Megan Doyle was named to the first team while sophomore guard Molly Hayes earned second-team honors. Freshman center Alex Feeney was named Freshman of the Year.

Megan Doyle also started all games for the Vikings, and leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.0 points per game. She is second in the team in assists with 144 and third in rebounding, pulling down 5.1 rebounds per game. Doyle has scored in double-digits in 23 games this season, and has scored 20 or more points six times. In addition, Doyle has recorded three double-doubles on the season. She is sixth in the conference in scoring and fourth in the NSIC in assists per game with 5.14. She was named NSIC Player of the Week on Feb. 18.

MollyHayes
Molly Hayes is also an Augie starter, leading the team in assists with 148 on the season. She is the third leading scorer this season, averaging 10.9 points per game. She has scored in double-digits 15 times this season and has finished four games with 20 or more points. Hayes has recorded two double-doubles on the season, both in points and assists. She is third in the NSIC in assists per game, averaging 5.29 apg. She was named NSIC Player of the Week on Dec. 21 and Jan. 18.

AFeeney
Alex Feeney started every game for Augustana this season on her way to earning the NSIC Freshman of the Year award. She is fourth in the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game and is second on the club in rebounding, pulling down 5.6 boards per contest. Feeney scored in double-figures 17 times, including a career-high 21 points against Bemidji State on Jan. 10. She led the team in blocks while collecting a career-high five against the University of Sioux Falls on Nov. 18. Feeney also has two double-doubles on the season, one of which was a 12-point, 12-rebound effort against Winona State on Feb. 13. Her 12 rebounds in that game marked her career high.
