Final Results
The Augustana men's golf team bounced back with a strong second round as the Vikings finished in seventh place at the Wayne State Spring Invitational which concluded Monday at the Wayne Country Club in Wayne, Neb.
Augustana, which entered Monday's second round in ninth place at 318, shot a 307 on Monday to finish with a 36-hole total of 625. Augustana jumped ahead of Northern State and Winona State to finish in seventh place. St. Cloud State carded a 289 on Monday to claim the team title with a 587. Host Wayne State was second at 589.
Individually, three Vikings shot in the 70's on Monday.
Eric Hieb led the way with a 74 to finish in a tie for 18th place at 151.
Jon Emerson finished 1 shot behind Hieb at 152 after shooting a 75 on Monday. He tied for 22nd place.
Joel Thompson recorded a 78 on Monday to tie for 47th place at 160. Rounding out the Viking scorers were
Adam Walsh at 164 and
Luke Robison at 166.
Jeff Christenson competed as an individual and finished at 169.
The Vikings will be in action again on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, when they travel to Fayette, Iowa, to compete in the Upper Iowa Invitational.
