Final Results
As has been the case most of the fall, the Augustana women's golf team put together a solid second round as the Vikings finished in fourth place at the UNO Fall Classic, which concluded Monday at the Pines Country Club in Valley, Neb.
The Vikings, who entered the day in sixth place, recorded the third-best round of the day to jump 2 spots in the team standings. Augustana carded a 330 on Monday to finish with a 36-hole total of 650 on the par 73 course. The Vikings overtook Missouri Western State and Concordia-St. Paul and nearly caught Truman State, which finished 3 strokes ahead of Augie in third place at 647.
Nebraska-Omaha won the team title with a 2-day total of 619, while Upper Iowa was second at 629. After Augustana, Missouri Western State was fifth at 658.
Individually, the Vikings had a pair of top 10 finishers.
Kate Tobin carded an 81 on Monday to tie for sixth place at 158.
Emily Kvidera joined Tobin in the top 10 by tying for eighth place at 159 after shooting an 80 on Monday.
Jennifer Benoy was next in for Augustana at 164, which tied her for 18th place.
Laura Strautz (171) and
Kelli Lowry (173) rounded out the Vikings' team scorers in 28th place and 31st place.
Emily Holck, the Vikings' individual competitor, finished 34th at 175.
Laura Taylor of Upper Iowa claimed individual medalist honors by finishing with a 1-under par 145.
Augustana concludes the fall portion of its schedule on October 11-12 at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships in St. Paul, Minn.
